Dharmendra Death: Rumours Of Veteran Actor’s Demise Go Viral, Esha Deol Issues Statement Confirming He Is Alive and Stable
Veteran actor Dharmendra—widely known as the “He-Man” of Indian cinema—is alive and stable, confirmed his daughter Esha Deol. Rumours of his death had circulated online, prompting Esha to post on Instagram: “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to respect our family’s privacy. Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes for Papa’s speedy recovery.”

Following reports that Dharmendra had been hospitalised, social media was awash with speculation about his demise. The rumours intensified when actors such as Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, among others, visited the veteran star at the hospital. Meanwhile his sons—Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol—along with Sunny’s sons Karan Deol and Rajveer Deol, were seen spending time with him at the medical facility. Several film-industry peers including Govinda and Ameesha Patel also called on Dharmendra to express their support.

Born as Dharam Singh Deol on 8 December 1935 in Nasrali, a small village near Ludhiana in Punjab, Dharmendra began life modestly but rose steadily to become one of Bollywood’s most honoured figures. In 1959 he made his debut in the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and went on to deliver an illustrious career spanning over six decades. He featured in landmark works such as Bandini (1963), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Satyakam (1969), Sholay (1975) and Chupke Chupke (1975), proving his versatility as romantic lead, dramatic actor and action star.

Esha’s clarification comes as much-needed relief to fans and the media, urging everyone to refrain from spreading unfounded rumours and to allow the family space while he continues to recover.
